The Crimson Trace CT RAD™ (Rapid Aiming Dot) is a rugged and lightweight open reflex red dot sight engineered for full-size handguns and fast target acquisition in defensive, competition, and tactical shooting applications. Built around a large sight window and crisp 3 MOA red aiming dot, the CT RAD delivers rapid sight alignment and intuitive tracking while maintaining a compact footprint optimized for pistol-mounted use.
Designed with performance and reliability in mind, the CT RAD features an intelligent auto shutoff system that automatically powers the optic down after 8 consecutive hours of inactivity to help conserve battery life. Users can quickly reactivate the optic and manually adjust brightness levels using the easy-access side-mounted controls. The optic includes 8 daylight brightness settings and 2 night vision compatible settings, giving shooters flexibility across various lighting conditions.
The CT RAD utilizes the popular CT RAD footprint, which is compatible with the widely used Docter® optic mounting pattern. This allows the optic to work with many factory optics-ready pistols and aftermarket mounting plates from leading firearm manufacturers including Glock®, SIG Sauer®, Springfield Armory®, Smith & Wesson®, FN®, Canik®, CZ®, and others.
At the center of the optic is a highly visible 3 MOA red aiming dot that provides an excellent balance between speed and precision. The large quick-acquisition window improves field of view and target transitions, making the optic ideal for defensive shooting, competition use, and tactical applications.
Constructed from rugged 7075 series aerospace aluminum, the CT RAD is significantly stronger than many optics built from standard 6061 aluminum. Its reinforced top strap design helps deflect force if the optic is dropped, while the recessed lens system provides additional protection against impact damage. Textured side panels further enhance grip during slide manipulations and handling.
